PSP Movie Downloads
If you just bought a new PSP (Sony Playstation Portable) or have been using PSP mainly for games and have no inkling about how to download PSP movies and watch them from your PSP, here’s the simple steps to download PSP movies to your PSP.
You will first need a computer and internet connection of course. The computer must be equipped with a DVD Drive and a “Pro Duo” Memory stick of a minimum storage size of 512MB. I would recommend if you have the budget to go to 1GB+. The memory stick is used to store the movie in MP4 compression format.
Next you will need DVD Burning Software. This typically comes with your computer, but if not, then you can find free software on the internet. A couple of sources to find this software is Tucows.com or Download.com.
The next piece of software that you will need is a PSP Video Converter – This software as the name suggests converts the raw movie files you have ripped into a readable format ie MP4 that you can watch on your PSP. Also check the above websites in the last paragraph for this software as well. Sometimes you will get the burner and converter software bundled together. Something to keep in mind while looking.
At the end of this article I have provided a site that I use to download my movies that I want to watch.
Steps to download the movie files onto your PSP
1. Copy your movie that you downloaded or take one of your DVDs and copy the files to a folder on your computer.
2. Run your PSP video converter and select the movie file(s) and use your PSP video converter to save it to MP4 format.
3. Using the USB Cable, connect your PSP to your computer.
4. Turn on your PSP and select "USB Connection" on your PSP. Your computer will automatically detect the new USB device connected to it and designate a new drive letter, usually E:, but not always. You can check in "My Computer" to be sure.
5. Create a new Folder (name it Music or Videos) under the E: drive or whatever letter your PSP was designated. This new folder will actually be your PSP.
6. It's time to start downloading your music and/or video files from your computer to your PSP.
7. That's all there is to it. After you have downloaded all of your favorite video's and music, disconnect the USB cable and you're good to go.
Now you can start watching PSP movies on your PSP.
